In partnership with Utah State University – College of Eastern Utah, the Blanding SBDC serves Grand and San Juan Counties, the Navajo Nation, the Ute Mountain Tribe of White Mesa and the communities of lower southwestern Colorado. Offices are located on the San Juan Campus in Blanding and at the Business Resource Center in Moab, offering a broad range of services to assist small business owners in entrepreneurial education, advocacy, and business development.
In a land of unsurpassed scenic beauty, with Native American reservations to the northwest and south, and pioneer decedents throughout, traditions and hardships run deep for the people of Southeastern Utah and the Four Corners Region. This area is among the most geographically isolated, economically impoverished, and sparsely populated areas in the nation. Families work hard to make ends-meat, but do so willingly, to live in their native, rural land of choice.
The people of the Blanding SBDC region are known throughout the world for their art, craftsmanship and culture. Creativity, adaptation and hard work have been of necessity and a way of life.
More recently, innovation has become important for economic survival for many throughout the region. With the help of USU – College of Eastern Utah, advances in distance education and technology are providing small businesses a way to advance business practices and connect to opportunities globally. In cooperation with the Utah Lead Center, and offices throughout the state, it is the mission of the Blanding SBDC to open doors to business and economic opportunities for individuals and families in Southeastern Utah and the Four Corners Region.
The Blanding SBDC also has a satellite location in Moab, Utah. See the right hand side bar for more information.
