Utah’s State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) project is an integral part of the International Trade and Diplomacy Office (ITDO) and has been instrumental in growing Utah’s global economy. Since the launch of our matching grants in June 2013, we have awarded 53 matching grants to businesses from all regions of the state. These businesses have traveled on state-led trade missions, exhibited at international trade shows, and held business-to-business Gold Key Service meetings facilitated by the Utah Export Assistance Center. They reported $2.12 million in actual export sales from June 2013 – March 2014. They anticipate $51.2 million in export sales over the next three years which is expected to support 253 jobs in Utah.
For the 2014-2015 year we are continuing to build on the previous year’s successes while offering additional matching grant opportunities designed to help small businesses at every stage of their export development. We invite you to learn more about these matching grants by visiting the webpages listed below. Online applications for matching grants will be made available on this website beginning October 1, 2014. In the meantime, you may direct your questions to Ariel Briggs.
