What: A science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) media campaign launch to kick off the private sector campaign supporting STEM education in Utah.

Who: Governor Gary R. Herbert and 30 business leaders and C level officers from large and small businesses, including representatives from companies such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, eBay, Nelson Labs, IM Flash, Adobe, Merit Medical, ATK, Energy Solutions, US Synthetic, Chevron, Fidelity, Boeing and NuSkin. The Governor and business leaders in attendance will be joined by other dignitaries, from astronauts to TV and movie personalities.

Why: Heeding the Governor’s challenge to support STEM education, the business community in Utah has stepped up and is launching a media campaign to “win the hearts and minds” of the parents, students and community in growing interest in STEM education.

Media Availability: Media availability will be at 11:45 a.m. for 15 minutes and again at 1 p.m. following the event.
