Utah Global Forum Presented by Governor Herbert (September 24, 2014)

The Utah Global forum will help businesses export successfully and adapt to today’s global marketplace and succeed in untapped markets.

There are more than seven billion potential customers in the world, and 2.4 billion of them are online. How many of those customers are yours? How many can you reach today?

The opportunity for any business to expand into the global marketplace has never been easier. E-commerce has redefined business borders and business owners are no longer confined by city, state or country borders. Today, expanding your sales abroad enhances your bottom-line.

The Utah Global Forum will facilitate the dialogue on how businesses can expand beyond local borders and develop a strategy of expansion into the global marketplace through importing opportunities and service exports. The program offers an incredible breadth of content, bringing experts from across industry, all with a single objective: move Utah businesses to the global business stage to meet the challenges of today’s business environment.

The Utah Global Forum will also create a special focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Utah. FDI represents an opportunity to become more actively involved in international business activities for all sizes of business. As such, it may take many forms, such as a direct acquisition, construction of facilities, or investment in a joint venture or strategic alliance with a local firm with technology or licensing of intellectual property.
