Break Through the Fog of Government Contracting

Pete CodellaNews

Thanks to a partnership between the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) and Logistic Specialties, Inc. (LSI), small businesses in Southern Utah have three upcoming opportunities to gain valuable insight about government contracting. All events are free of charge.

“With all the momentum we’re seeing around workforce development, these outreach events are geared directly at the lifeblood of our economy: small businesses,” said Ben Hart, GOED managing director of business services. “There is tremendous opportunity to succeed in government contracting and these events aim to show small businesses the path forward.”

The first event to be held is Quality Management for Contractors training. This two-day workshop will provide the background, concept of requirements and certification expected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in order to do business with them. Certificates will be issued upon successful completion of the workshop. These certificates are required for quality control personnel on all Corps of Engineers projects.
