The Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and Northrop Grumman Corporation held a small business outreach event today at the Northfront Business Resource Center at Davis Applied Technology College in Kaysville. The event informed Utah’s small business community of Northrop Grumman’s operations and programs to enable future partnerships.
“Utah has its fair share of global companies like Northrop Grumman, but many strong small companies too,” said Lt. Governor Spencer Cox. “Events like these bring the two together, and collaboration really is the key to success for all businesses. I look forward to the positive outcomes of this outreach.”
Northrop Grumman is a global security company providing innovative systems, products and solutions in unmanned systems, cyber, C4ISR, and logistics and modernization to government and commercial customers worldwide. The company has more than 1,000 employees located in Utah.
PTAC, a program within the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), assists small businesses in finding, bidding on and winning government contracts. In partnership with Northrop Grumman, PTAC hosted the outreach to facilitate partnership between Utah companies in technology, manufacturing, software and other capabilities.
“Northrop Grumman is a world-class company that makes significant contributions to Utah’s aerospace and defense industry,” said PTAC Director Fred Lange. “This was an exciting opportunity for smaller companies to pursue potential subcontracting opportunities and build value chain vendor relationships.”
The event consisted of presentations by Lt. Gov. Cox, Lange and Northrop Grumman Technical Services Director of Global Relations Jim Sutton, a longtime Utah resident. Following the presentations were one-on-one small business exhibition meetings and networking.
“Northrop Grumman has been committed for many years to utilizing our small business suppliers to help stimulate technological innovation and solve critical program challenges,” Sutton said. “We look forward to continuing our partnerships with PTAC and the state of Utah to help create jobs, increase competitiveness and drive our economy forward.”
