The Utah Innovation Center, through funding from the SBA’s Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership, is spotlighting Utah small businesses with short videos. The success story videos highlight the range of backgrounds, industries, work, and accomplishments of small businesses in the state. Each one of the companies to be filmed has worked with the Utah Innovation Center to successfully win Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) seed funding. The first company that will be spotlighted in this success story series is the award-winning Isotruss.

IsoTruss has grown from a small Utah company to an international leader in innovation and sustainability. Being recognized as a potential disruptor of the steel industry, IsoTruss’ innovative design is stronger, lighter-weight, more durable, less expensive, and more sustainable, emitting 70% less CO2 in manufacturing than steel.

The company’s growth and expansion is in part attributed to receiving multiple grants from the federal SBIR program. With the help of the Utah Innovation Center during the application process, IsoTruss has been awarded four grants through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Agency.

Earlier this year, IsoTruss was named the 2023 Global Innovation Award winner by JEC Composites in the Equipment, Machinery & Heavy Industries category. The Utah Innovation Center is proud to work with this great company. Learn more about IsoTruss here.
