Fast track to growth: State grants help rural Cache Valley businesses expand

Gary Wagner said the company is experiencing good sales growth now and is expected to continue that trend for the next five years, allowing them to hire additional employees. As an incentive to make that happen, Ophir-Spiricon applied for and received $33,000 for a Rural Fast Track grant funded by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The grant funds are available for small businesses in qualifying Utah counties, including Cache, aimed at creating high-paying jobs. Ophir-Spiricon will add 26 employees to the 66 it has right now.
