Magazine notes “Utah has become the epicenter of the ‘Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies’ in recent years.” Presently, there are over 5,200 IT and Life Sciences companies in the state creating nearly 66,000 high-paying jobs. In fact, the average IT salary in the state is 58% higher than the statewide average nonagricultural wage. Most IT companies in the state are located in Salt Lake County. Utah ranked higher than Arizona, California, Colorado, Washington and the U.S. in IT industry growth (both new businesses and employees) from 2004-2005.
