Utah businesses interested in growing their global markets in Europe may now apply to participate in Governor Gary R. Herbert’s 2015 Trade Mission to Western Europe, June 6 – 16.

Join Governor Herbert and Utah’s new European Trade Representative, Thomas Shuck, on a trade mission to help businesses enter and expand in Western European markets. Participating businesses will not only receive critical education on exploring market entry, but will also gain business-to-business matchmaking opportunities intended to facilitate continued expansion.

This trade mission is hosted by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and World Trade Center Utah, with support from the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service.

Grant Assistance
Several matching grants through the State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) program have been reserved for the Western Europe Trade Mission to offset approved travel expenses for qualifying Utah small businesses. Expenses eligible for reimbursement include:

  • Airfare (Fly America provisions apply)
  • Match-making services
  • Interpretation service
  • Ground transportation costs within the hosting locale
  • Per Diem (lodging and meals, based on U.S. Department of State per diem for the locality)
  • Participation fees

Travel reimbursements are available for qualifying Utah based small businesses. Funds are made available by the U.S. Small Business Administration through the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. STEP awards are for up to $3,000 and require a 25 percent cash match by the recipient up to $1000.

Trade Mission Applications
