Westminster College
A Unique Environment for Learning
Westminster is a nationally recognized, private, comprehensive liberal arts college—the only one in Utah. With a broad array of graduate and undergraduate programs, Westminster is distinguished by its unique environment for learning. Westminster prepares students for success through active and engaged learning, real world experiences and its vibrant campus community. Westminster’s unique location, adjacent to the Rocky Mountains and to the dynamic city of Salt Lake, further enriches the college experience.

Our unique environment for learning
From city streets to mountain tops, from small classes to big opportunities for hands-on learning, from the liberal arts and sciences to specialized professional and graduate programs, no other college or university in the country offers you the distinctive combination of advantages and resources that together create a unique environment for learning.
Make the most of an education centered on action and experience.
With more than 70 academic programs, students learn in an environment that values participation and collaboration. Active learning and hands-on experiences are integrated into every course.
With classes that average just 13 students, students quickly connect with classmates and professors, forming friendships with all. And because we emphasize applied learning across the curriculum, students more easily connect their knowledge to real-world situations every day. A student to faculty ratio of 10:1 assures personal attention and guidance in and out of the classroom.

Make friends and fit right in.
The Westminster campus is an easy-going, laid-back, friendly place. We welcome students from all backgrounds and cultures and value diverse interests, passions, and talents. Our vibrant campus community is diverse, coming from 39 states and 31 different countries. But in a college with just 3,000 students, anyone can get involved and have a big impact on our campus. From service-learning projects to more than 50 clubs and organizations, each student can find his or her niche.
Make yourself at home—in all kinds of environments.
Westminster students enjoy the excellent academic, residential, cultural, and recreational resources you expect from a top-ranked college. But the benefits of life at Westminster extend far beyond our beautiful campus. Students can intern in downtown Salt Lake in the daytime, and then go star-spotting at Park City’s Sundance Film Festival at night. Or take a break from studying to go skiing or snowboarding. We’ve got it all going on all year-round. No wonder the Princeton Review ranked Westminster 12th in the nation for “Quality of Life!”

Make an affordable choice for college education.
At Westminster, we are firmly committed to making our top-ranked private college an affordable choice, regardless of a family’s financial means. Every student who applies is automatically considered for merit scholarships. About 97% of Westminster’s entering freshmen receive some form of merit-based and/or need-based financial aid with an average award for 2009-10 of $21,487. We will work with students and their families—individually—through every step of the financial aid process.
