Weber State University
Founded in 1889, Weber (pronounced Wee-ber) State University is a coeducational, publicly supported, open-enrollment university, offering professional, liberal arts and technical certificates, as well as associate, bachelors’ and masters’ degrees. The university prides itself on its excellent teaching, extraordinary commitment to meeting the needs of students at every stage of life, and ongoing service to the community.

Online courses, distance learning, independent study and evening classes offered at various times and places meet the complex needs of students trying to balance family and work responsibilities. The university recognizes that a diversity of cultures and perspectives enriches the learning environment.
Weber State University has more than 200 undergraduate majors-- everything from Accounting to Zoology.
More than 23,000 students study full- and part-time at the university. WSU's main campus is in Ogden with an additional campus in Layton. Nearly 600 students live on the Ogden campus.

Personal attention to students’ needs is the hallmark of a WSU education. With a student/faculty ratio of 22:1, WSU ensures that four out of five courses have fewer than 30 students and offers attentive, comprehensive academic advisement for all its students.
Forbes magazine ranks WSU among the top 50 of America’s Best Public Colleges, and the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics is listed in the 2010 Princeton Review as a top college in the country.
Outside the classroom, students can choose from more than 100 student clubs and organizations, emphasizing all areas, including student government, arts, academics and athletics. Weber students have recently won prestigious national scholarships and competitions to study overseas. Others have participated in undergraduate research, taken humanitarian trips bringing medical and educational supplies to Ghana and Kenya, and assisted doctors in Peru; traditional study-abroad opportunities are available around the world.
WSU hosts13 intercollegiate programs, which compete at the NCAA Division I level. WSU also offers more than 14 club sports and a variety of intramural athletic programs. The university is located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, which are on the western flank of the Rockies. The surrounding area offers world-class skiing and rock climbing on nearby mountains as well as rafting on nearby rivers for excellent recreational opportunities.
