Along with numerous other market sectors, the real estate market has had to learn to adapt to a new normal amid the coronavirus pandemic. With in-person showings rare, potential home buyers are increasingly relying on connecting digitally.

Real estate professionals at Windermere Real Estate have learned to evolve in ways they never imagined possible. Since Gov. Herbert implemented the Stay Home, Stay Safe directive, the agency adapted to a 100% digital and virtual operation.

Windermere real estate professionals are taking measures to help keep the community they serve safe. These measures include virtual tours, putting up portable sinks at listings, providing masks and hand sanitizer, using digital platforms to sign and transfer documents, and online options to conduct wire transfers.

“I have not left my home once,” said Monica Draper, associate broker and vice president of business development. “I’ve had FaceTime walkthroughs, Zoom meetings and Google Hangout phone calls. The company that puts out the sign adds the key boxes to limit the number of people in the house.”

A testament to how innovative the industry has become is some clients are doing curbside closings. Homebuyers drive up to the title company and sign closing documents from their cars.

“We have to come back to the fact that real estate transactions are needed, but it is essential that we do them safely,” Draper said.
