Farewell, My Friends!

Pete CodellaBroadband

It is with a mix of excitement and sorrow that I take this opportunity to announce my departure from my position in the broadband office at GOED.  I am pleased to let each of you know that I have accepted an offer with AT&T. They will be announcing more2013-04-11-Governors-Economic-Summit-1648 about this appointment in the coming weeks. However, as an important partner within the broadband community, we wanted to be sure you received this news from us before any public announcement was made about my new position.

A search for my replacement will begin immediately, and Kelleigh Cole, our current project coordinator, will fill the role of interim project manager until a replacement is selected.  All inquiries related to the Utah Broadband Project can be directed to Kelleigh at kcole@utah.gov or 801-538-8831.

There are a number of exciting things happening in the coming months and I’m sure I will see most of you at one or another of the events.  I did want to be sure to remind everyone of our October 24th, Broadband Tech Summit which will be very exciting and well worth your time. If you have not yet registered, I encourage you to do so today!

Also, the next Utah Broadband Advisory Council meeting will be September 19th at 10 a.m. and will be held at the GOED offices.

Lastly, I’d like to encourage everyone to remain actively engaged in the ongoing Regional Broadband Planning Councils initiative, in partnership with Utah’s 7 Associations of Governments.  This effort is vital to our state-level broadband planning efforts.

I value all of the great relationships that we have created over the past several years and am confident that in my new position I’ll still have a number of opportunities to continue to be involved with the Utah broadband community.

Sincerely,
