IMG_2413The Utah Broadband Outreach Center recently spoke to the Park City Rotary Club about the economic importance of broadband to local businesses. As a thank you, the Rotary Club donated “Genius! The Most Astonishing Inventions of All Time” to the Park City Library on behalf of the center.

Broadband is increasingly important to businesses, both Urban and rural and is the lifeblood for many industries.

As FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has said on several occasions, “Today, the largest taxi company in the country doesn’t own any vehicles, the largest overnight lodging company doesn’t own any hotels, and the fastest growing of the top-10 retailers has no showrooms.”

The presentation to the Rotary Club included examples of how local Utah companies, such as Orabrush, Green Polkadot Box and the Grand to Grand Ulta have used the Internet to grow their business.
