Summit Speaker Series: Prototyping Your Outdoor Product

Join us for breakfast and an outdoor industry business discussion on Wednesday, April 1st at the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

Turning an idea into a functioning product that is sales-ready can be an exciting, complex process, and prototyping is a critical phase in the effort. Our panel of experts will share their experiences in prototyping:

  • Thinking it through – What are the steps you should take before prototyping begins

  • Cautionary tales – Just because you can 3D print it doesn’t mean you can manufacture it

  • Best practices – Maximizing creativity while controlling costs

  • Options – Low volume prototype tooling vs high volume production tooling, working with higher education, and more

We’ll hear from:

  • Theodore Espiritu, Founder and Creative Director, Espiritu

  • Taylor Foss, Engineering Manager of the Weber State University Concept Center

  • Nicholina Womack, CEO of FutureINDesign

  • Chase Anderson, Program Coordinator of the Outdoor Product Design & Development program at Utah State University
