In 2017, Governor Gary R. Hebert challenged Utah businesses to create 25,000 jobs throughout rural Utah in the next four years.

The Office of Rural Development (ORD), a division of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, supports this initiative by working with businesses and organizations in Utah’s 25 rural counties and providing resources and programs to sustain business and improve employment opportunities. The office collaborates with municipalities and other partners to support rural economic growth.

To spread the word about ORD’s eight key programs, the office published a comprehensive Program Guide. Released to the public on Oct. 10, 2018, at the 25k Jobs Rural Legislative Retreat at Snow College in Richfield, the guide provides overviews of each ORD program along with rural Utah demographic and economic impact data. Partner organizations are also highlighted.

“Most of our programs are post-performance, which means that application, review, award notice and contracting must take place before the project begins,” said Linda Gillmor, ORD director. “The Program Guide will enable our stakeholders to review the requirements carefully before they start a project.”

Below is an embedded version of the 2018 Program Guide. You may also download a digital version of the guide. The online guide will be updated periodically, as necessary.
