The Utah Innovation Center is excited to announce its first commercialization cohort focused on customer discovery and product-market fit training for SBIR/STTR Small Businesses. Utah based Enclavix, LLC under its VentureWrench Startup Coaching brand has been selected to lead this 8-week course. This course is intended to assist Utah small businesses in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding pipeline in successfully translating innovative solutions and products to the marketplace. Upon completion, Utah companies should be better prepared to translate their technology to the private sector and better position themselves to succeed as a small business.

The Commercialization Cohort, funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, targets one of the four objectives of the SBIR/STTR program; increasing private sector commercialization of innovations derived from federally funded research and development. This 8-week program will include topics such as customer discovery, problem-solution fit, go to market channels, and customer relationships. It will include in depth, one-on-one coaching as well as peer learning opportunities.  In addition, this course will include opportunities to present on key takeaways and a cash benefit of up to $1,250 for successful completion of the course to spend towards commercialization efforts.

We encourage any Utah companies that have applied for, won, or previously submitted an SBIR/STTR proposal to apply. Companies will be prioritized based on their commitment to the 8-week program.
