Pete CodellaUtah Innovation Center

Congratulations to Emery Animal Health, winner of a $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Dr. Glen Jensen, Owner and Veterinarian at Emery Animal Health, a veterinary clinic in Castle Dale, Utah, will use the non-equity position funds to develop a diagnostic tool that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assess the fertility of bulls. The new technology has potential to greatly improve the productivity of beef herds.

The Utah Industry and Innovation Center assisted Dr. Jensen with his winning proposal. Winning a Phase I SBIR grant qualifies Emery Animal Health to compete for an additional $650,000 Phase II grant upon successful completion of the Phase I project.
