New St. George Office

Jared Goodspeed Joins GOED’s Industry and Innovation Center Team

The Utah Industry and Innovation Center (Center), housed within the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), is pleased to welcome Jared Goodspeed as the Center’s rural innovation and entrepreneurship liaison. Jared will lead the Center’s St. George office, located at Tech Ridge, as part of Governor Cox’s effort to support and expand entrepreneurial opportunities in rural Utah.

Jared is a St. George native and graduate of Dixie State University with an AS and BS in Business Administration and Finance. His deep understanding of the entrepreneur ecosystem is tied to his successful start and exit from two businesses in the area. Post exit, Jared worked closely with southern Utah entrepreneurs and companies in his role with the Utah Science Technology and Research Initiative.

As part of the Center’s team, Jared will continue to work with innovators in rural Utah, aligning resources and assisting in commercialization efforts. Jared will also assist companies as they apply for competitive federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These programs offer non-equity positioned funds to assist with technology research and development and are a strong focus of the Center’s work.
