Our Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) held its Symposium/Vendor Fair on Oct. 11, 2018, at the Viridian Events Center in West Jordan, Utah. Approximately 325 were in attendance including representatives from state and local government agencies, industry, Department of Defense and Federal agencies, many of whom were looking for government contracting opportunities for small businesses.

The program began with opening remarks from Ginger Chinn, GOED’s managing director of business services. Next was the Procurement Opportunities Preview (POP) which opened with lights and music bringing energy and excitement to the show. Nine presenters, in rapid-fire succession (five minutes each), discussed business opportunities within their organizations.

Highlights included 53 booth exhibitors from government and industry (defense contractors) to present and discuss business opportunities, share information and train attendees on how to do business with their respective organizations. The Symposium also included a match-making session where 16 representatives met with clients in 15-minute sessions over a two-hour period to discuss detailed opportunities with their businesses.

The entire PTAC team was present and worked for many hours to make the event a success. GOED and PTAC thank all who participated and look forward to next year’s Symposium/Vendor Fair.
