Annual NIH, CDC and FDA Grant R&D Opportunities Released

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the 2021 Small Business Program omnibus grant solicitation to encourage small businesses to submit innovative ideas to bring to patients in need.

Participating agencies of the 2021 omnibus solicitation include National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Funding opportunities are included for SBIR and STTR programs, and those allowing and not allowing clinical trials.

The 2021 HHS Omnibus includes:

NIH, CDC and FDA participate in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding opportunities:  

• SBIR Clinical Trial Not Allowed – NIH, CDC, FDA
• SBIR Clinical Trial Required – NIH & CDC only 

NIH funding opportunities for Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR):

• STTR Clinical Trial Not Allowed
• STTR Clinical Trial Required

Standard due dates apply, to include September 5, January 5, and April 5.
