Congratulations to Care Weather Technologies, winner of a $50,000 Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I contract from the U.S. Air Force (AFWERX).

Care Weather, based in Provo, Utah, will use the non-equity position funds to develop a scatterometer for measuring wind speed and direction over the ocean. The proposed scatterometer will provide more immediate data at a lower cost than other satellite scatterometers.

The Utah Industry and Innovation Center assisted Care Weather with their winning proposal. Winning a Phase I STTR contract qualifies Care Weather to compete for an additional $750,000 Phase II contract upon successful completion of the Phase I project.
