Fall 2015 Provider Updates to Utah’s Broadband Map

utah broadband providers updatesLast fall, the Broadband Outreach Center’s mapping team worked with 23 Utah broadband providers to update the residential broadband map. An additional 14 broadband providers confirmed no updates. This was the first time map updates were actively collected by the team since the Broadband Outreach Center was created and broadband provider participation was as high as it has been in the last 5 years. A summary of map changes is below:

  • AF Connect: Updated maximum advertised speeds.
  • All West Communications: Updated fiber to the home speeds in targeted areas.
  • Blue Spring Broadband: Updated coverage area.
  • CentraCom:  Expanded cable coverage area.
  • CenturyLink: Updated coverage area and maximum advertised speeds.
  • Choice NTUA: Updated coverage area.
  • Connext: Updated coverage area and speeds.
  • Emery Telcom: Expanded cable coverage area.
  • Frontier Communications: Updated maximum advertised speeds in targeted areas.
  • InfoWest: Updated coverage area.
  • Intellipop: New provider to the map.
  • Manti Telephone: Updated maximum advertised speeds.
  • Neighborhood Networks: Updated coverage area and added fiber to the home coverage.
  • Rise Broadband: Updated coverage area.
  • River Canyon Wireless: Updated maximum advertised speeds.
  • SenaWave: Acquired Webwave’s coverage.
  • South Central Communications: Expanded fiber to the home service, dropped service in Kanarraville.
  • Sprint: Updated coverage area.
  • Strata Networks: Updated coverage area and maximum advertised speeds in targeted areas.
  • TDS Telecom: Acquired Charter Communications in Utah.
  • Union Telephone: Updated maximum advertised speeds.
  • UTOPIA: Updated coverage area.
  • Vivint: Updated coverage area.

The Broadband Outreach Center accepts broadband map updates at any time, and is currently contacting providers to see if there have been map updates since last fall. To update data, or if you have any questions, contact Jessie at jpechmann@utah.gov.
