Jeremy Andrus, CEO of Traeger Grills, has been appointed by Gov. Spencer J. Cox and confirmed by the Utah Senate to serve on the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity board.
Andrus brings more than two decades of entrepreneurial leadership to the board, having guided two Utah-connected consumer brands — Skullcandy and Traeger Grills — through periods of rapid growth and transformation. His experience scaling companies, building strong organizational cultures and shaping corporate strategy has helped establish Utah’s reputation as a hub for innovation and business expansion. That same perspective will strengthen GOEO’s work to foster innovation, support emerging businesses and expand opportunity across Utah.
“Jeremy’s appointment underscores Utah’s strength in cultivating visionary leaders who build and invest locally while competing globally,” said Jefferson Moss, executive director of GOEO. “His record leading consumer brands through sustained growth will help drive our strategy to support Utah businesses in their next phase of expansion, position our state as a hub for innovation and broaden opportunities for Utahns in every region.”
“Utah’s economy thrives because collaboration is part of our DNA,” Andrus said. “I’m honored to join a board that plays such a vital role in shaping that future — connecting business, education and government to ensure Utah remains a place where innovation and enterprise can flourish.”
Andrus has served as CEO of Traeger Grills since 2014, transforming the company from a 26-year-old regional business into a leading global brand. He relocated the company’s headquarters to Utah to access local talent and rebuild its culture around innovation and growth. Traeger went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021. Earlier in his career, Andrus helped grow Park City-based Skullcandy from a four-person startup into a publicly traded company with more than $300 million in annual sales.
He also serves on the boards of Silicon Slopes and World Trade Center Utah, helping advance statewide initiatives that strengthen Utah’s innovation ecosystem and global business reach.
The GOEO board includes up to nine members appointed by Gov. Cox to four-year terms. Board members represent key sectors of Utah’s economy — including entrepreneurship, rural development, higher education and industry — and advise on policies and programs that promote long-term prosperity and quality of life statewide.
