Interview with Lance Clark, CEO and co-founder of Ident Solutions
Lance Clark understands the challenges businesses face when it comes to the safety of their employees and workplaces. He spent decades helping people overcome those challenges by applying comprehensive security technology.
Clark is the CEO and co-founder of Ident Solutions. He grew the company from an idea on a whiteboard in his living room to a successful company where employees work together to bring innovation to the security industry.
Ident Solutions is a homegrown security technology company based in Farmington, Utah, that provides instant data that helps businesses and individuals make informed decisions. The company is a technology pioneer that provides instant background checks that help businesses make quicker and safer decisions. They do this through a combination of agile engineering, dataology and innovative technology. Their products help organizations identify threats by reviewing criminal records and translating commonly used jargon.
How did you get started in the industry?
I have more than 30 years of experience in the public safety software industry. Before Ident Solutions, I was the president and CEO of Spillman Technologies, Inc., a $64 million software corporation that developed and sold innovative public safety software. My understanding of the security and safety industry led me to see what was missing in the security space. I co-founded Ident Solutions to disrupt the industry and fill the gap between traditional security protocols and innovative technology solutions.
What recent professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I was honored and humbled in 2014 to be awarded the CEO of the year by Utah Business magazine. However, an even more significant achievement is being named a Best Company to Work For by the same publication from 2010 through 2019. I truly believe that happy and satisfied employees make for happy and satisfied customers.
What do you like most about living in Utah?
I am a Utah native and love everything about the outdoors. Every chance I get to escape to my cabin in the mountains, I take it! I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, riding ATVs, snowmobiling, and even curling. Our state’s gorgeous surroundings are home to me.
