This month the Broadband Outreach Center added Utah Enterprise Zones to the Economic Development map (locate.utah.gov), the Center’s commercial broadband map application. Locate.utah.gov is a tool that helps businesses find the critical information they need to make site selection decisions. The site allows users to explore the state’s broadband availability, utility information, transportation, workforce and lifestyle features.
Utah Enterprise Zones are a vital addition to the locate.utah.gov. The Enterprise Zone Program was established in 1988 and an enterprise zone comprises an area identified by local elected and economic development officials and then designated by the state. Certain types of businesses locating to, or expanding in, a designated zone may claim state income tax credits provided in the law.
