The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) recently released an Introduction to Effective Public-Private Partnerships guide to encourage cooperation in deploying broadband infrastructure.
The publication provides an overview of common broadband partnerships and factors communities should consider in developing a successful partnership model. It also provides examples of partnership models which include private-sector led, government led and joint ownership.
The guide also encourages state and local governments to help enable infrastructure development by promoting dig-once policies, installing empty conduit during road construction projects and streamlining zoning and permitting processes.
