Middle Eastern Market is a Place for Successful Growth of Utah Businesses

Pete CodellaNews

Many have found business success in the Middle East—including Andreas Roell, co-founder and former chief executive officer of EGM Worldwide—but more is to be found. At this September’s Utah Global Forum (UGF), Roell will share how EGM Worldwide succeeded in the Middle Eastern marketplace and how Utah businesses can too.

Before the company was acquired by Rotana Media Group in 2013, EGM Worldwide was a leading digital media company that informed and entertained internet audiences in markets throughout the world. Headquartered in Dubai, U.A.E., the company also had offices in North America and throughout the Middle East. As chief executive officer, Roell partnered with the leading Arabic entertainment company to develop the region’s largest video-on-demand platform. Roell will share this success story at the Utah Global Forum to show that Utah can be successful in the Middle Eastern market.

Prior to his success at EGM Worldwide, Roell was chairman and chief executive officer of the digital marketing agency Geary Group. During his tenure of 12 years, Roell saw the agency from its start, to becoming the fourth largest independent search agency, with offices in North America, Asia and Europe.

Roell founded and currently is the managing partner for Carib Ventures, a technology investment company, focused on supporting the development of entrepreneurs and their companies. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Advertising Federation—the world’s largest advertising trade association, and has been featured in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, BBC and NBC.

Any company with an intent in growing or starting their firm in exporting should attend the Utah Global Forum, presented by Governor Gary R. Herbert. UGF is Utah’s premiere international event organized to connect Utah business owners, leadership, sales and marketing professionals with the global market and to showcase what makes Utah great for foreign investors. The event will attract a broad domestic and international business audience and will inspire attendees to start or increase global trade and investment.

The forum will be held Sept. 24 in the Salt Palace, Grand Ballroom. To register, visit utahglobalforum.com. Registration is limited and will sell out quickly.
