Two New GOED Board Members Announced

September 12, 2019

The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) today announced the appointment of Heather Kahlert and Doug Dilley to its Board of Directors.

The GOED Board consists of 15 members appointed to four-year terms by Utah’s governor with the advice and consent of the Utah Senate. The GOED Board helps promote and encourage the economic, commercial, financial, industrial, agricultural and civic welfare of the state.

“Heather and Doug will be a great addition to the GOED Board,” said Val Hale, executive director at the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. “Their experience and diverse backgrounds will help Utah continue its noteworthy economic success.”

Heather Kahlert is executive vice president of the Kahlert Foundation, a charitable foundation providing grants to nonprofit organizations to improve quality of life and well-being in the areas of healthcare, youth programs, education, veterans and human services. She has decades of experience in grantmaking, community engagement and capacity building.

Doug Dilley is general manager at Parker Aerospace, a global leader in motion and control for the industrial and aerospace markets. He has an extensive background in the aerospace industry working for companies such as Moog, Inc., Honeywell, Collins Aerospace and Messier Services.

“I am very honored and excited about the opportunity to serve as a member of the GOED Board of Directors,” said Doug Dilley, manager at Parker Aerospace. “As a native Utahn and someone who has spent over 30 years in the aerospace business, I have had the privilege to live and work in many places around the country and internationally. In the past three years, after returning to our wonderful state, I have seen first-hand how our governor, the Legislature, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and a host of other organizations are working tirelessly and with great purpose to grow our economy and offer opportunities for all Utahns. I look forward to the opportunity to offer ideas and insights I have gained and to help continue this great work.”

The new GOED Board members replace Brent Brown and Christopher M. Conabee whose terms have expired. Learn more about the Governor’s Economic Development Board here.
