The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced that they are making up to $19.3 million dollars available in the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) grant program to fund access to rural education, training and healthcare resources.
Since 2009, USDA has invested almost $150 million in the DLT grant program which finances telecommunications-enabled equipment and advanced technologies for people who live and work in rural areas across the United States.
Eligibility of the DLT grant program includes entities providing education and medical services via telecommunications including corporations or partnerships, tribal organizations, state or local units of government and private for-profit or not-for profit corporations.
Grant applications are due no later than July 7, 2014 and an application guide can be found here.
