Tara Thue, the Utah Broadband Project Manager, was recently asked to speak to the Southern Utah Technology Council (SUTC) in Cedar City. SUTC is a group with approximately 180 members, made up of Southern Utah high-tech businesses and their associates, brought together to create a high tech business environment in Southern Utah.
Thue gave the group an update on the Project, including adoption and availability statistics for the State, and an overview of broadband access in the Five County Association of Governments region, which covers Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane, and Washington counties. The Utah Broadband Project Team is considering developing a program to work with the Associations of Governments in the upcoming year to address broadband planning issues on a local level.
