Summary

This episode features a conversation with Natalie El-Deiry, the director of immigration and New American integration at Go Utah, in its newly formed Utah Immigration Assistance Center, and podcast host Pete Codella, Go Utah’s communications director.

The Utah Immigration Assistance Center was established following the 2022 legislative session to support Utah businesses navigating the challenges of recruiting foreign labor and immigrant inclusion. El-Deiry discusses the meaning of New American integration and why Utah has a well-deserved reputation for welcoming immigrants and refugees.

The duo also discusses Go Utah’s partnership with the Utah Department of Workforce Services and other entities to support the Cox/Henderson administration’s inclusivity goal, some of the challenges New Americans face and how listeners can support them, how Utah compares to other states in this arena, and much more.
