Each year, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development hosts the Utah Economic Summit — a one-day event where the state’s best and brightest business leaders gather to discuss economic development trends and topics.
In 2019, the Summit combined with the Utah Global Forum to include international trade topics. With one in four Utah jobs tied to international trade, when we talk about economic development in Utah, it’s important to include international trade.
Keynote speakers address economic opportunities and challenges during plenary sessions in the morning and at lunchtime. Gov. Herbert addresses attendees in a keynote address following lunch. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions cover all aspects of economic development and include panel discussions on the day’s hot topics and exemplary business case studies.
The Summit concludes with a made in Utah reception featuring food and products made in Utah for attendees to enjoy and participate in giveaway drawings for items from the Summit sponsors.
The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development has a long-standing tradition of honoring individuals and companies that make significant contributions to Utah’s economic development, to local communities and industries.
The awards have been known by different names, but their recipients have one goal in common — to make Utah the premier destination for business and entrepreneurs. Recipients live and work full-time in the state and have supported the local economy for a decade or more.
