Each year, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development hosts the Utah Economic Summit. In this one-day event, the state’s best and brightest government and business leaders gather to discuss economic development trends and topics.
In 2020, the Summit combined the governor’s economic development and energy offices and the Utah Global Forum to create one super-summit. Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Summit was an all-virtual experience, broadcast live on Oct. 26 from The Grand America Hotel.
Keynote speakers address economic opportunities and challenges during plenary sessions in the morning and at lunchtime. The governor addresses attendees in a keynote address following lunch. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions cover all aspects of economic development and include panel discussions on the day’s hot topics and noteworthy business case studies.

The Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development has a long-standing tradition of honoring individuals and companies that make significant contributions to Utah’s economic development, to local communities and industries.
The awards have been known by different names, but their recipients have one goal in common — to make Utah the premier destination for business and entrepreneurs. Recipients live and work full-time in the state and have supported the local economy for a decade or more.
