Peru’s economy has grown at an average rate of eight percent in the last two consecutive years, and at an annual average rate of 6.4 percent since 2002. Peru offers abundant private investment opportunity, which is largely responsible for their consistently strong economic growth since 2002. Peru’s GDP has out performed other Latin American countries by approximately 2% for the last five years.

  • Peru has growth in Utah relevant industries (IT and software, energy and natural resources, life sciences).
  • One-to-one meetings with pre-qualified distributors and potential business partners
  • Networking opportunities with chambers of commerce and U.S. companies doing business in-country
  • Pre-arranged logistics including hotels, ground transportation, interpreters, and daily itinerary
  • Appointments with key government officials and industry experts

Utah’s Peru Trade Mission Strengthens Export Potential

Quotes from trade mission participants

“The trade mission to Peru was a success; well worth the time and travel.  The meeting organized with the National Police alone made the trip worth it, not to mention all the other opportunities to connect and network.”
Ron McDaniel

“The Utah Trade Mission to Peru’s rich diversity of representation (academic, commercial, humanitarian, and public sector) was immensely helpful.”
David Taylor
World Vision International

“We have greatly benefited from participation in these trade missions. Support from the Utah Department of Economic Development and particularly David Utrilla, the Utah Honorary Consul for Peru, has helped open many doors for expanding our humanitarian efforts.”
Mark Maxfield

“Participating in this mission was a great experience on the whole. The team really worked hard to try to make it a productive experience for all.”
Benjamin Crookston

“My appreciation goes to the team, David Utrilla, Harvey Scott, Ricardo Romero and Daniel Leifson among others. They are definitely the champions, the logistic were managed very well.”
Saul Leal
BYU TV International

“It was a great opportunity to network and establish contacts. Furthermore, it was a great way to fortify relationships from having that face-to-face contact.”
Israel Zepeda

“This mission was very well organized and supportive of each member of the mission. But a highlights were the contacts made in Peru but also the connections with the members of the mission were outstanding and a highlight of my career.”
Charlie Nutt
NACADA The Global Community for Academic Advising

“My trip to Peru was so far above the expectations I had its hard to put into words. They made sure that we were informed on the processes and schedules we had to follow. If it wasn’t for the trade mission and the way it was set up my company would have never considered expanding in Peru or Latin America for that matter!”
