The Utah State Legislature allocates funding for grants and other opportunities to the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity to support Utah businesses. Various teams within the office operate different grant programs. We've combined them all on this page and included information about previous grants for your reference. Coming Fall of 2026
Up to a $200,000 grant for Utah businesses that promote and support economic opportunity and provide a service related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure connected to the state’s five targeted industries.

This grant will allow a qualified hotel to enter into a contract to pursue a claim for loss of income.
Utah Office of Tourism
Opens: May 6, 2026

The Utah Office of Tourism's Cooperative Marketing Grant is designed to help local destinations, non-profit attractions, non-profit events, federally recognized tribes, and municipalities amplify their advertising efforts and attract out-of-state visitors.
Marketing Only — No Infrastructure: This grant requires a strict 1:1 exact cash match and is dedicated exclusively to external marketing and advertising initiatives (such as digital media, print ads, billboards, and PR campaigns).
Other Funding Opportunities
Affordable Housing Infrastructure Grant
Created in 2025 by the Utah Legislature, the program establishes a grant fund to support infrastructure for affordable housing. The grants are awarded to qualified public entities within a county of the first class (Salt Lake County).
APEX Accelerator
Utah’s APEX Accelerator helps Utah businesses find, bid, and win procurement opportunities with Department of Defense (DoD) federal, state, and local entities.
Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (EDTIF)
The Utah Legislature created the Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (EDTIF) corporate incentive program in 2005. As the state’s needs and economy continue to evolve, the Legislature fine-tunes the EDTIF program to maintain Utah's robust environment for economic development.
Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF)
With the rural modifications to the EDTIF program, known as REDTIF, projects within rural Utah qualify for more significant incentive amounts.
The Utah Small Business Credit Initiative (USBCI)
GOEO administers a statewide small business capital access program. It provides capital and technical assistance to help small businesses and entrepreneurs grow, succeed, and remain stable, benefiting communities nationwide.
The Startup State Initiative
The Startup State Initiative celebrates, inspires, and empowers Utah entrepreneurs and those who support them. Funding sources include small business loans, grants, venture capital, angel investors, business competitions, and crowd funding.
