We want to give a special thanks to two of our Utah Broadband Project Team members who are moving on to pursue exciting new opportunities.
Christy Heaton, one of the Project’s main GIS analysts, has moved to Seattle to pursue a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems at the University of Washington. Her husband, Sean, has also accepted a position at F5 Networks in Seattle.
Christy has worked for the Utah Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) since November 2009 and has been an integral part of the Utah Broadband Project Team. Not only has she helped us with our bi-yearly data submissions and with processing mobile wireless data, but she was also featured regularly as a guest blogger on our website. In April 2012, she helped us launch our new map of the month series. Check out some of her recent blog posts:
- Mobile Libraries

During his time at AGRC, Spencer led an effort to improve the accessibility of digital mapping resources (including the launch of the new gis.utah.gov website), worked to refine AGRC’s project management capabilities, and was successful in building and maintaining relationships with local, state, federal and private sector stakeholders.
He enjoys music (he even plays the bass in a few local bands) and riding his road bike. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and four children.
We will miss them both and wish them the best in their future endeavors!
