Register Now: Governor’s Native American Summit

The Utah Division of Indian Affairs, Offices of the Utah Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Utah Department of Heritage and Arts and Utah Valley University (UVU) have collaborated to host the 9th Annual Governor’s Native American Summit on July 30-31, 2014. This year’s theme is “Building a Sustainable Future Together.”

The Summit will consist of a variety of speakers and break out sessions, including Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert and Roger Willie (a Native American Actor).  The featured speaker for the Youth Track is Garrett Yazzie, who is known for his award-winning science project on solar-powered heat.  There will be cultural performances by the Ute Mountain Ute Youth Bear Dancers, Bear Dance Chiefs and flutist Aldean Ketchum. Ute Mountain Ute of White Mesa, Utah is the host tribe for the summit. Breakfast and Lunch for both days is provided as well as parking.

Registration is $25 for General Admission, no fee for students (Jr. High through College) and no fee for Elders. Register early as priority for meals and parking will go to pre-registered participants.
