NIH and CDC Release SBIR Contract Solicitation for Small Business R&D

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released its FY25 Contract Solicitation with applications due October 18, 2024 by 3 p.m. MT.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are soliciting proposals from small businesses that possess the research and development (R&D) expertise to conduct innovative research that will contribute toward NIH or CDC mission needs and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program objectives. Various topics allow for submission of proposals for only Phase I or Phase II, or through the ‘Direct to Phase II’ process. Some topics allow for ‘Fast Track’ proposals, which include both a Phase I and a Phase II proposal. 

Participating NIH Institutes and Centers:

  • National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS)
  • National Cancer Institute (NCI)
  • National Institute on Aging (NIA)
  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
  • National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NAIAD)
  • National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

Participating CDC Centers:

  • National Center for Emerging Zoonotic and Infectious Disease (NCEZID)
  • National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD)
  • National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC)
