The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA) have each released SBIR/STTR funding opportunity topics:
NIEHS seeks to support both the transition of translational research into commercial products and services and the entrepreneurial training of early career scientists through these opportunities:
- RFA ES-21-008 SBIR: Innovative Approaches for Improving Environmental Health Literacy (Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
- RFA ES-21-009 STTR: Innovative Approaches for Improving Environmental Health Literacy (Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
NIA intends to engage the small business community to work with environmental health science researchers with an expertise in community engagement and/or research translation, and educators to develop tools, activities, or materials to build environmental health literacy for students, health professionals, and the general public. These opportunities include:
