The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity recently announced reaching its goal of 100 Utah-based businesses designated in its 100 Companies Championing Women initiative, part of Inspire In Utah.
The initiative recognizes and highlights stories of 100 Utah companies offering family-friendly policies and practices and women-specific initiatives known to impact the recruiting, hiring, retaining, and advancing of women employees, managers, and leaders.
“These individuals and businesses represent the very best Utah has to offer,” said Gov. Cox. “They work tirelessly and continually step up to meet new challenges, and the results make our state a thriving place for women to do business.”
Inspire In Utah is an initiative to support women entrepreneurs and women in the workplace at every level with the resources to succeed in business. As part of the initiative, the website has key resources for networking, training, funding, and employment.
“It has been an honor to be a partner of the 100 Companies Championing Women initiative,” said Dr. Susan R. Madsen, Utah State University professor, and Women and Leadership global thought leader. “Learning about what these Utah companies do to hire, retain, support, and advance women has been informative and inspiring. These 100 companies of various sizes and industries provide a roadmap for other organizations who are starting to think about how to support women and families in today’s workplaces.”
The initiative highlighted 100 companies that champion women by offering flexible work schedules, part-time benefits, women-specific leadership programs, pay equity, professional development, tuition assistance, family leave policies, return-to-work programs, childcare support, adoption and fertility benefits, and more.
