The National Science Foundation (NSF) released its 2021 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Phase I (NSF 21-562) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program Phase I (NSF 21-563) solicitations.
The NSF SBIR/STTR program provides non-dilutive funding for the development of deep technologies with strong societal impact and commercial potential. With four submission windows, as opposed to specific deadlines, NSF provides small businesses more flexibility when submitting proposals.
The first submission window for NSF is open now until March 4, 2021. However, the submission site opens March 5 and again begins receiving completed applications.
NSF requires a Project Pitch first be submitted and approved before a full SBIR/STTR application can be submitted. The Utah Industry and Innovation Center is available to guide companies through the process to successfully submit to the NSF for SBIR-STTR grant opportunities.
If your Utah small business intends to apply or you have questions about this funding opportunity, please contact the Utah Industry and Innovation Center at firstname.lastname@example.org.
