Follow the money. Residents in Utah and Massachusetts have some of the highest rates of receiving SBA-guaranteed loans, while businesses in Connecticut and Georgia are approved for some of the largest SBA loans on average.
Park City is one of the best small cities in the country, according to Condé Nast Traveler’s 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards. Park City ranked #3 in the “Best Small Cities in the U.S.” category. This news follows an announcement in August that Park City was named the “Friendliest City in America” by Condé Nast Traveler readers.
Utah occupies the top spot for the fifth time in six years (Virginia in 2013 was the lone outlier). The state has a very pro-business climate and companies benefit from energy costs that are 23% below the national average and fourth lowest in the U.S.
Utah is among the most industrious states in the nation, according to a new study ranking states by their economic vitality and high-tech performance.
Utah is a standout in the use of banking services, with the top ranking in this category. Utah has the second-highest portion of households that are fully banked (81.5 percent), the third-lowest rate of using alternative financial services (15 percent) and the second-highest rate of savings account ownership (84.7 percent).
It turns out the state with the most cities at or near the top of the list is… Utah.
How does Ogden compare with Connecticut’s hedge fund country? The richest 20 percent of Ogden’s households hold around 40 percent of the city’s income. By contrast, in the metro area covering Bridgeport, Stamford and Norwalk, the richest 20 percent hold close to 60 percent of the income.
